Prodigy drives European engine development.

cummins logoEngine manufacturers face a challenge to conform to the new Euro 6 emission standards which come into force in 2013. Particle emissions must be halved, and nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions must be reduced by 77 percent.

To meet the standard, Cummins, a global leader in the design and manufacture of diesel engines, continues to make substantial investment in Prodigy based integrated engine test cell systems at its European Technical Operations Centre.

Prodigy is the site standard test control and data acquisition software with over 20 fixed, mobile & server based systems in use covering engine test cells, dynamometer, emissions carts, fuel rigs and ancillary equipment.

Recent investment includes development of a new mobile rig to control and monitor the Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) of an engine. Having successfully proven a prototype unit, three further IMT rigs are now being supplied.
